Horizontal glass bands and composite panel cladding at the Heart Centre of Bursa High Specialisation Training and Research Hospital in Yıldırım.
The Heart Centre of Bursa High Specialisation Training and Research Hospital in Yıldırım is one of the city’s key healthcare buildings, defined by strong horizontal bands between floors. Dark glass bands alternate with light aluminium composite panel belts on the facade.
As hospitals must stay in continuous operation, the work was split into phases that did not disrupt departments. Patient rooms received aluminium joinery with high thermal and acoustic performance, and the ground floor a wide curtain wall. Hygiene and easy cleaning also guided the choice of materials.
